Figured it would be simpler than moving and rebuilding attached pieces so I can add another multipurpose room each time I run out of space, and keep things more centralized. I have a perfectly functional network of multipurpose rooms, but I was trying out a base with large rooms for the first time. It IS mainly a preference issue, just wondering if it was possible or not. It's not a matter of space or resources it sounds like a preference issue. Am I missing something obvious, or is it just not possible to do this the way I was thinking? Is there a way to switch between them? I only see one in the menu, and it takes the same amount of resources, despite being twice as big (but presumably it's a separate object entirely because it initially did not have the planter programmed into it like the circular one, according to old posts that popped up when I googled).Īs awesome as it is to build a giant mega-aquarium in the large room, especially in freedom mode, space/resources are still a concern while progressing through the regular game mode, so I just want a regular, circular AC for the time being. and there wasn't enough space for the big one because of my wall. After much frustration, I figured out it was because I had dividers in the room, and apparently there are two different alien containments (a circular one and an elongated one that takes up twice as much space). but when I went to build it, I couldn't get it tto work at all. I was planning on putting an alien containment in a large room and thought I had checked to make sure it worked (I was planning it in my mind for several days but hadn't gotten around to actually building all the pieces of the new base).
